Ruwanwelisaya

According to mahawamsha this was put up by King Dutugemunu The height was 240 feet and was concerned the tallest .however Dutugemunu could not complete the pagoda .later many kings constructed for the completion the pagoda Ruvanvelisaya had some influence from India.

Lowamahapaya (Brazon palace)

It is by the side of sri maha boddhya was built by king Dutugamunu in 02ndBCit was the large structure which had 9 stories and the height was 200 feet and the breadth was also 200 feet after many misfortune the pillars was erected by king parakkramabahu this is one of the Eight holy place

Ransimalakaya

This is located in between brazen palace and Ruwanwelisaya and is supposed to be the conference room of the monks

Bugjatissa stupa (pagoda)

On eastern side of Ruwanweli saya there is a small stupa located on quadrangle place .some says it belongs to Buddha Tisa monk who was Arahth but others say it is Elaras Tomb but the truth is yet to be known.

Thuparamaya

It is located to the North of Ruwanweli saya A Davils deval aya at the beginning it was converted to Thuparamaya by king Devanampiya tissa.This stupa was created as the shape of harvest (paddy) it is believed that the Right jaw of lord Buddha is kept here and built.

This new stupa was reconstructed in 1862AD and the extents have been changed it is modified by many kings and there are statues of Buddha in these stupas.

Padha Lanchana stupa

According to the mahawansa it is believed four Buddha’s have been here“kakusada”konagama””kassapa”and “Guthma”so a stupa was created by king Lajga tissa

Sangamitha stupa

It was built by king uttiya when sngamittha who brought maha boddhya and founder of nun‘s in sri lanka when she passed away stupa was built.

Behet oruwa(Herbal medicine tub)

Once needed to the patients to be immersed in medicind water this tub was used .it is found on the easten side to Ruwanwelisaya .it was one a hospital or brought there .it is a similar tub /boat found in polonaruwa Alahana periwana.

Nagalu ledha(well)

There is a well which was used by the monks for drinking purposes
