Sigriya was developed as complex city and fortress in 477-495 during king kashyapa period it was included palaces, Gardens, on the rock and around Few stories are being about king kashyapa and constructions sigiriya. According to one of that, king kashyapa killed his father to take possession as a throne from his father king Datusena .the throne ritual belong to king Datusenas son by the legal wife ,mogallana who escaped to India as murdering attack by kashyapa How ever mogallana coordinated crops and returning to retaking the throne, king kashyapa built complex city in sigiriya at last mogallana came and attack the kashyapa while that battle kashyapas crops were very weekend finally he suicide by him self.

Another story as the king kashyapa was mounted changed as to take a strategic advantage but the crops misinterpreted the movement as the king having opted to retreat ,prompting the abounded the king altogether ,it is said that being too proud to surrender he talk his dagger from his waistband cut his throat raised the dagger proudly ,sheathed it and fell dead mogallana returned to the capital to Anuradhapura converting sigiriya in to the monastery complex.

Other stories say king kashyapa competed that construction of sigiriya complex from initial build by his father king Dahtusena, king kasyapa was isolated and when he cut his Own throat it inspiring his death was as a suicide ,some story says it was murder by sudden an secret attack given poison by someone else.

Sigiriya has the remains of the an upper place ruins on the flat top of the rock, the lion gate and mirror ,wall with frescoes, on that middle level terrace palace and fortress in this site walls and gardens spread large area from the base of the rock, the complex have had a water management system on the rock and garden areas, the upper place of the rock collect some water on systematically cut into the rock the water supply to the garden by hydraulic system some says that painting was the largest picture gallery of the world as that carving area 140 meters and 40 meters high of the western face of the rock ,according to the graffiti 500 ladies in that painting about that ladies are not clear ideas as few opinions are about that.
