COLOMBO

Colombo is a commercial capital of Sri Lanka it is famous as a trading port, arrival of the Portuguese the Sri Lanka in 16 th century the British, who came in 1796 extended of the city south and east beyond the fort’s limits and wide streets and spacious buildings. BELANWILLA TEMPLE

In 3 rd century sacred bo tree planted at Anuradhapura .the 32 saplings were donated planted throughout the sri lanka and the one at Bellanwilla temple is planted one of these 32 saplings the people believes the bo tree has a spiritual power for who came for blessing from that bo tree. Bellaniwill Rajamaha viharaya is located near the capital of Kotte,it was  under the reign of king Parakramabahu(vi)-(1412-1476)
The cultural procession is arranged by the Belanwilla temple and it is a more popular pageant in western province .that procession is increased the attraction by expectations. As adding, more elephants, dancers, drummers, wipe crackers, this beautiful festival of arts has over.100performers, it comprises, dancers, in traditional, costume depicting the different dance, traditions, drummers, whip crackers, the procession bands, conch shell blowers, stilt walkers and many elephant are highlighted of the procession.

KALUTHAR PAGODA

Kaluthara bo tree is one of the thirty two saplings of the sacred sri maha bo tree in Annuradapura. the Indian prince wickrma from pandys,planted of bo tree in lower terrace, after that the public began to venerate the site as a sacred place. 1505AD the Portuguese had brought under one power that province. After that Portuguese the Dutch and British were used that upper terrace as camp and an office .After independence of sri laka that kachariya one the upper terrace had remove as the requested by sir Cyril de zoysa from the first prime minister of the country, honorable D.S.Senanayake. In  1931 and 1942 there was commencement for develop that sacred place. In 1951 November 11 th was established the legal facilitate. The development of kuluthara bo secured place

Kalutara great pagoda was started to build in 1969.It is the great construction of Sri Lanka engineers at present.

KALANIYA RAJAMAHA VIHARAYA

Kalaniya temple is situated in west province 6 kilometers in the north east of Colombo city. King Maniakkhika invited to Lord Buddha to visit kalaniya while Buddha’s third visit to Sri Lanka with 500 arahants. According to the chronicles the king Maniakkhika had built a temple ,beside the kalanya river .The Buddha’s hair deposited and build up pagoda kalaniya temple became a holy Buddhist place again after venerable mahinda brought the dharma to sri lanka.in that kotte era kalaniya temple was the holy place in sri lanka also .Portuguese invaders had damaged that kalaniya temple and  pagoda later king kirthi sri Rajasinha renovated kalaniya temple .these reconstruction belong to chief monk venerable Mapitagama Buddharakkitha,the renovation had contributed by Mrs. Helena wijewardana belong to advisory venerable Mapitihama darmarakkita,that renovation also introduce one of the very fascinating  wall and ceiling painting by painter Solius Mandis .Kalaniya temple is one of the great holy place to sri lanka Buddhist ,and it is a only the place of Buddha’s visited places in western province.Kalniaya temple arranging procession annually it is the one  of Grand procession in sri lanka,many cultural  dancers  and elephants and many events  are included to upgrade that procession by the organizing kalaniaya Rajamaha vihararya in Durutu(January)

GANGARAMYA TEMPLE

In the 19th century was built by Don Bastion who was the fellow and shipowner. Gagaramaya temple develop up to the present by venerable Dewundura Sri Jinarntna. That wonderful  Gangaramaya temple Is more popular as it has been bo tree of a sapling of the sirimaha bo and is over 100 years old and poyaga,image house ,simamalaka,museum,pirivena, and residential education and alms halls,that place decorated  with stone cravings brass work ,antics such as relic elephant tusk and art craft .these thing are displayed in the temple chef monk kirthi sri sumangala Jinarathana yssaara ,who continued  to impure the temple
