The jungle beach in Rumassala is connected to the great legend of Ramayana in to the mythological epic the monkey good (Hanuman) was sent back to the Himalaya to bring medical herbs in order to heal Lakshman who was wounded trying to save and take away by force princess sita from the power full king Rawana, Hanuman could not be identify these herbal medicine plants ,so he took entire mountain and carried it to the battle field to save the lakshman while it was carrying ,fell down piece of it in the location of the persent bay Unawatuna.
