MAHIYANGANA PAGODA

After demise of Lord Buddha in 543 BC: that Arhat “sarabahu” collected the Buddha’s left clavicle bone which had from the funeral pyre, when the mahyangana pagoda enlarged to height 18 feet that relic of left clavicle bone deposited honestly within the same pagoda. Time to time mahyangana pagoda renovated and enlarged by several kings.King Dathusena was raised it to height of 120 feet such as voharika Tissa, sena ll, vijayabahu I and kirthi sri Rajasinha have participated to renovation and maintained at that temple .Remarkable former president D: S Senanayake renovated of the temple in 1942 and re construction work stated at 1953 and completed in 1980 with the completion of a new pinnacle for the pagodaMahiyangana procession arrange by the chief monks of mahiyangana temple and who is the lay custodian called “Basnayaka Nilame” that procession is more colorful and must to see that who are the interested that events

MUTHIYANGANAYA PAGODA

Muthiyangana temple is situated in the city of Baddula in the Uva province in 18th and 19th century Baddula was the capital of Sri Lanka ,as during that time strong and very great king Rawana was dominating sri lanka, and that the war of Rawana and Rama had happened in this area it was clarified by historical evidence this area as identifies setha elya ,Rawana elya seethe kotuwa in that Indian legends In that 5th century BC load Buddha and large group of monks arrived to sri lanka as invited by Naga king maniakkika of kalanya that was the Buddha’s  third visit to sri lanka ,Dava king indika ruled namunukula mountain range and he invited to Buddha to visit to Baddula and made a sermons. Muthyangana pagoda built up by king indika where the place was made sermons by Buddha and deposited some hair relic and mukthaka relic The main image house is a two statue one is a protecting god of muthyangana and namunukula God indika and other one is maithree Bodhisattva there is a two image houses one is made veharge it has renovated in 1960, second one is called “sath sathi veharage”that image house have been renovated after 1935, still the temple has two boo trees but there had seven boo trees four boo trees have been destroyed, naturally the last maha rahath monk of sri lanka had made sermon  under this one of two Boo trees as it named malyadawa Boo tree and second one has been collected from jathwanaramaya in India as it named Ananda Bodhi, in the 5th century king Devanampyatissa had renovated this temple and he planted third Bio tree near the sathi image house this Boo tree belong to 32 Boo trees which originated from Sri Maha Bodhi tree

SOMAWATHIYA PAGODA

Somawathya pagoda is situated in North central province on Sri Lanka there is able to reach on two ways to somawathya pagoda, from polonnaruwa, one way is from minnarya, and other way is between polonnaruwa and kaduruwella cities. Both ways are about 40 kilometers up to that holy land.somawathya pagoda is located by the bank of the river mahavali ,it was built by king Gri Aba as the request his wife princess somawathi who wanted to perform religious activities in 2nd century AD. Lord Buddha’s right tooth relic deposited in chamber of the stupa. On that believes to be one of two remaining tooth relic in the world, the other one is being at tooth temple Kandy, it is a Buddha’s left canine ,The right tooth relic was gifted to the prince by Buddhist monk venerable mahinda, in 4th century that place renovated by several kings, King karnitta Tissa, King kurtaknna Tissa, king Gamini Aabya, king Amanda Gamini
In1958 after independence from British the somawathya pagoda renovated on several times, which excavation have been found few ruins of structures including four moonstones  flower pedestals six long Buddha s stony foot print ,wall surrounding the pagoda 9 stone inscriptions’The somawathya pagoda was something in nature which attracts our wonder it has been occurred on several times that beam of light radiated out of the stupa it has repeated in1977 next phenomena of rays of light and the wall sky was the colour of yellow while the opening ceremony of pinnacle, it was in 1981 and 2002, and 10: am 23 April 2006 .There was huge crowd During kiri pindu pooja at 9may, 2010 it happened again  

NAGADEEPAYA PAGODA 

 Nagadipa located about 30km from Jaffna and 35 miles from India, that location is called nainativa, nainativu is one of smallest island in the gulf of manner.According to the Tamil Buddhist epic”manimekala’mentions the Buddha’s footprints. nagadipa temple is built up where the Buddha is suppose to have stayed during that visit to the small island, the Boddhi tree and silver color pagoda is located both sides of the road, there are two temples one was built by Burmese government in 1956 one side is Hindu temple and other side on the left is large stone inscription of king parkrmabahu I that inscription describe to the rules for the foreign merchants and pilgrims.
