Tissamaharamaya

Tissamaharamya is situated southern part of sri lanka it was the capital of kingdom Ruhuna in sri lankaTissamaharamaya is important part of the Down south as there was a Buddhist historical attraction and Yala national park is located in this region also important city in the island to historical and economy.

Tissamaharamaya was ruled by king mahanage .later it was dominated by king kavantissa king kavantissa married queen viharamahadevi ,king kavantissa ruled sri lanka from kalanya king kawantiss father of king Dutogemunu who was coordinated to crops for battle Indian king Elara.

Tissa lake is large reservoir tank in southern part of sri lanka and on east another irrigation reservoir, it is called “Debar wewa”the trees on the bank are made an immense fresh and cooling greenery and shade for Travelers that surrounding area.. according to the history Load Buddha has visited to the tissamaharamaya on Buddha’s third visit to sri lanka in 250-210 BC king Devanampiyatissa renovated or completed constructions by king mahanaga was projected at sadagiri stupa many relic were sent to king Devanampiyatissa while it was constructed by Emperor Asoka from India

In third century BC king mahanage constructed Yatala pagoda, in the south west corner of tissa lake,”Galkanumandiya” Was the monastery of the ancient ruins, Another Ancient pagoda is located in that area .it is called “manic”
